Launching The Garden Bar & Liquors' New Logo

When a beloved community spot takes on a new chapter, the brand identity has to do more than just look good — it has to honor the past while signaling the future. That’s exactly what we set out to achieve with the new logo for The Garden Bar & Liquors, formerly Sprengel’s Sports Bar & Liquors.
After 17 years as Sprengel’s, the owners decided it was time to return to their roots, reimagined for today. The grand reopening — held on August 23rd with their “Cheers to Change” celebration — was the perfect moment to debut their refreshed name and look.
Our Role
At Coates Creative, we were tasked with designing a logo that captured the essence of The Garden: modern, welcoming, and rooted in community. The design needed to feel fresh and approachable while carrying forward the legacy of a place locals already know and love.
The Design
The new identity leans into clean typography and a bold, timeless mark, giving The Garden Bar & Liquors a polished yet down-to-earth presence. It’s versatile enough for signage, menus, merchandise, and digital use — while still feeling instantly recognizable to longtime regulars.

Why It Matters
A logo is often the first impression of a brand, but in this case, it was also a statement of continuity and growth. By introducing a new look at their reopening, The Garden set the stage for an exciting new era without losing the heart that made Sprengel’s special.
